3. THE SECOND WEEK AT SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY IN BAGUIO CITY

3.1 THE FIRST TIME OBSERVATION IN SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY SHS

This week has been a particularly busy time for me, as I have to wake up at 4:30 AM to prepare for school—something I have never experienced before. Although it can be a bit exhausting, I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment, from the characteristic chill of Baguio to the exciting rides on Jeep. The occasional tardiness with friends has also become an inseparable part of this journey, creating memorable experiences.

During my first observation, I felt a mix of excitement and anxiety. My mind seemed to go blank, filled with questions about cultural differences and teaching approaches. I truly feared that I might not be able to perform well, and that sense of unease lingered throughout the day. However, I had a wonderful buddy by my side. He may be quiet, but he is incredibly attentive and always ready to support me in any situation. His presence made me feel much more comfortable in this unfamiliar environment.

The first observation passed with a whirlwind of emotions, ranging from anxiety to moments of discovery. I realized that despite the challenges, each experience offers valuable lessons. From the small details of teaching to the interactions with students, I have learned many useful things. These feelings not only help me grow professionally but also open up a new perspective on life and people.

The instructor was very enthusiastic during the first day of class. They utilized a drill lesson approach, presenting everything in a clear and specific manner, which greatly helped students grasp all the relevant knowledge related to the topic of hyperbolas. After that day, I was tasked with creating a lesson plan for the subsequent observation.

During the second observation, everything gradually improved. I began to understand the approach and organization of a classroom, which made things easier for me. Alongside this progress, I was also assigned the task of creating another lesson plan.

3.2 PRACTICES IN SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY SHS

After that, Ma'am Jenny assigned me to teach the next day, on Wednesday. I felt very anxious because the preparation time was so short, and my mind kept racing with "What if?"—wondering if I would be able to manage it. However, I received support from my buddy, which helped boost my confidence. Additionally, the students were very open and friendly towards me; they genuinely enjoyed my lesson, which made me feel happy and more self-assured:

The next day, I had another class, but this time I felt more confident and proactive in my approach. I had prepared a more effective lesson plan and organized the class better than before. This increased confidence allowed me to engage with the students more effectively and create a more dynamic learning environment:

Especially this week, I had the opportunity to meet Father Sales, the principal of the school, to present a gift from Dong Thap University. He is a kind, humorous, and very hospitable person. Our meeting was not only a formal occasion but also an enjoyable interaction that left a positive impression on me.

It has been a busy week, but I have learned so much during my time here and have had the chance to meet many wonderful friends. Each experience has contributed to my growth and made this week truly memorable.
